Out of an empty shell came a custom build with exposed beams, high ceilings, concrete floors, brickwork, and iron fixtures that create a modern taqueria.
A large central bar with custom display shelving is the heart of the space, creating a welcoming and active vibe where guests can unwind, watch the big game, catch up with friends, and enjoy handcrafted drinks. Tile and countertops of earthy tones, along with dark green beadboard cabinetry featuring hand-hammered iron ‘clavos,’ were selected to create a casual, traditional feel with, but with a modern twist. Hand-painted signage and menu boards contribute to the relaxed atmosphere.
The adjacent dining area features wall coverings depicting traditional Mexican landscape, a custom marquee letter sign, and soft moody lighting via several large wagon wheel chandeliers. The open kitchen concept provides guests a front-row seat to see recipes of the owner’s grandmother come to life.
The exterior walls are adorned with more hand-painted artwork; monochromatic murals of Mexican inspired vignettes and landscapes. Also included in the mural is the home of the owner’s grandmother, a fitting tribute to the woman whose cooking inspired generations.
