CLIENT: Aiea Shopping Center
LOCATION: Aiea, HI
COMPLETED: 2025
Originally built in 1965, Aiea Shopping Center has long served as a neighborhood retail hub. InForm Design was tasked with reimagining this three-story, open-air center to enhance user experience, modernize infrastructure, and strengthen long-term property value.
Our team worked closely with ownership to complete a full site analysis, evaluate pedestrian and vehicular circulation, and identify opportunities for additional gross leasable area (GLA). Through a combination of strategic upgrades and thoughtful design gestures, the revitalization improves both functionality and curb appeal.

The design team led conceptual planning and documentation across exterior upgrades, structural repairs, and user-focused enhancements. Key features include:
-
New paint scheme and lighting along tenant storefronts
-
Upgraded entry portals and soffit ceilings
-
Full signage and wayfinding package
-
Installation of two new elevators
-
Demo and renovation of existing restrooms and select tenant spaces
-
Repair of concrete spalling and retaining wall reinforcement
-
New vertical picket railings to replace outdated concrete caps
InForm also addressed ADA compliance and deferred maintenance to bring the property up to current code, creating a safer and more welcoming environment for all users.
